Nowak Drums is a family-owned Australian business specialising in handcrafted stave solid wood drums,
located in Bedfordale, Western Australia. With over a decade of experience, our drums are designed and built with pride and intention right here in WA.

We take great care in every step of the process — infusing each instrument with sound, soul, and character that reflects our love of music and craftsmanship. Our vision has always been simple: to share the unforgettable feel and tone of Australian hardwood drums with musicians everywhere, while celebrating sustainability. We love reclaiming and repurposing timbers whenever we can, giving new life to beautiful woods and reducing waste, so every drum carries a story both in sound and in its materials.

Kyle - The Drum Builder

Kyle is the heart and hands behind Nowak Drums. What began as a personal passion for drumming quickly turned into a full-blown mission to craft high-quality stave snares with character, depth and serious punch.

Kyle designs and builds every drum from scratch, obsessing over timber selection, shell construction and fine details. He’s never satisfied with “good enough” – every drum has to feel right, sound right and look the part. If there’s a new idea to try or a technique to refine, you can bet Kyle’s already thinking about it.

Kelly - Operations

Kelly keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes. From admin, orders, and customer care to marketing and organisation, she makes sure things stay on track — and that customers have a smooth, supported experience. Kelly also ensures Kyle takes breaks (and occasionally leaves the workshop)

Richard - The Dust Master

Richard is Kyle’s dad and officially holds the most important title in the workshop – Dust Master.

Richard help keep the workshop clean and running smoothly, tackling the endless sawdust that comes with drum building. While he might say he’s “just helping out,” his support makes a huge difference. Every great workshop needs a legend who isn’t afraid to grab a broom and keep things moving.

Joe - Workshop All-Rounder

Joe and Kyle have been friends since they were kids. Later on, they even played in a band together as adults – just for fun and a love of music.

These days, Joe is a huge help in the workshop and shares Kyle’s passion for building quality drums with attention to detail. He assists with machining our larger bass drums, loves milling timber and is always ready to pitch in wherever needed.

When he’s in the workshop, Joe loves to talk — drums, timber, ideas for new builds — Joe and Kyle could chat for hours. His energy, humour, and endless creativity make him an invaluable part of the team.
